Dr. Stephen Moore joins Pangaea in China

Dr. Stephen Moore has joined Pangaea as Senior Physician/Project Director. Dr. Moore will initially be located in China where he will be supporting Pangaea’s ongoing work with the Clinton Foundation’s HIV/AIDS Initiative on behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Health. He is an experienced clinician and administrator with an extensive background in HIV/AIDS and TB care and treatment on the international level. He was most recently involved in treatment scale-up efforts in Kenya and worked for several years as a consultant with Medecins San Frontieres in Burma and Papua New Guinea. Dr. Moore also has significant experience practicing and teaching medicine in China.

Prior to his international work, he had an active internal medicine practice in Seattle. He was also founder and president of Health America, a Seattle-based HMO with 260 physicians and 16,000 patients under care. Dr. Moore will initially be working with Eric Goosby and the Pangaea staff on the planning and implementation of HIV/AIDS treatment efforts in China and Ukraine, as well as participating in the mentoring and training of healthcare professionals in the provision of HIV care.
