Pangaea Co-Produces Documentary Film on San Francisco's Response to AIDS Epidemic Past and Present
Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation, in partnership with
San Francisco AIDS Foundation and
aids2031 produced a short documentary film on the past and future of the AIDS epidemic in
San Francisco. The 11 minute film documents
San Francisco’s response to the epidemic past and present, illustrating how it was that the young leaders of the 1980s and 1990s collaborated to develop what became known as “The San Francisco Model of Care” and how that tradition of innovative young leadership in battling the disease both at home and globally continues today.
The film was screened at the De Young Museum on March 11, 2008 as part of a kick off event for the aids2031
Google.org Young Leaders Summit focused on the future of the global response to HIV/AIDS. This event was a reception and public conversation with San Francisco Bay Area business, medical, civic and community leaders, and
Summit participants. The
Summit was a gathering of 40 young leaders from around the world for a two day meeting at the Google campus in
Silicon Valley.
aids2031 is a consortium of partners who have come together to look at what we have learned about the AIDS response as well as consider the implications of the changing world around AIDS in order to chart options for the long term response.
