Increasing access for women to integrated services for HIV/AIDS and drug addiction in Eastern Europe and Central Asia: Opioid substitution treatment, HAART and preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission in female injection drug users  

This session will bring together leading public health experts from Eastern Europe and Central Asia to describe regional and country level epidemiological trends and issues relating to the provision of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment for female injection drug users (IDU)

The Yunnan Model: An HIV/IDU Continuum of Care

Director Wang will speak about ongoing HIV prevention and treatment programs in Yunnan Province in the People's Republic of China spanning urban and rural populations, with special focus on Yunnan's comprehensive programs for care and support for injection drug users. Yunnan Province has the highest number of reported cases and estimated HIV infections in China, and has given high priority to establishing an effective response.

Integrating HIV prevention, care and treatment in sub-Saharan Africa:  The testing and scaling up of intervention models involving women and youth

This session will bring together researchers and HIV experts working in Eastern and Southern Africa to discuss the development evaluation, and scaling up of novel approaches that integrate HIV prevention, care and treatment. Special emphasis is given to innovative programs designed to meet the needs of women and youth.
